Update on Operation Santa Last Minute Request

When I have more time, I'll do a complete update but you all made it happen!! In just one weekend, you donated enough to purchase, wrap, and send over 400 pounds of gifts and treats for the 1107th AVCRAD. I still don't know what that is, but I know the men assigned to it are giving up their holiday at home so that they can protect us . . . and that is enough. Thank you all so much. The need has been met and your generosity is appreciated.

Hello Deb,

My name is Kym and my husband is currently deployed with the 1107th Avcrad, by the way, Avcrad stands for, Aviation Classification Activity Repair Depot. There are only 4 Avcrads in the United States. We are from Mississippi with the 1108th Avcrad and we, the 1108th, were suppose to do this deployment. Due to Hurricaine Katrina alot of our soldiers from the 1108th were not able to make the deploymet so the 1107th Avcrad out of Missouri jumped right up and stood in for our rotation. About 100 of our soldiers from 1108th were able to make the deployment but we are there as the 1107th. I was very moved to here what you all did for our guys, it brought tears to my eyes seeing everyone come together like this. I am sorry that we did not know of you taking on this huge and wonderful task as we would have gladly helped out in the effort. Should you are yours need anything, please e-mail me and I will do whatever I can.

Again, thank you all so much for the great outpouring during the holiday season. I hope the rest of the season keeps you all healthy and happy.

Kym
